Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief Sept 2005

Our 6-man surgical team flew into New Orleans just after the storm. We triaged at New Orleans International airport, which was basically only flying helicopters for rescue missions. We performed surgery tendon repairs at the Pete Marivich Center in Baton Rouge. Even relocated 5 families (21 people) back to North Carolina with Operation Blessing.  NASCAR & Joe Gibbs Racing Team provided transport for us between Louisiana & Fayetteville.

The purpose was to find a treasure, Its worth, our hope, beyond all measure.  We were to follow a map to Alaska’s Lake Clark, Passed down through the generations by our patriarch.  Our party numbered myself plus ten, Each one of us kith and kin.  A description of each member of our clan Will help you to understand The merriment our company provided.  “It was the adventure of a lifetime!”             Continue reading →
